INAUGURAL LECTURES

Professorial Inaugural lecture is at the heart of the University of Port Harcourt’s reputation and day-to-day academic life. The Inaugural Lecture is an opportunity for newly-promoted or appointed Professors to inform colleagues in the University and the general public, about their research career so far; and update colleagues on their current and future research directions. The inaugural lecture series is therefore a platform for our professorial staff to contribute to the academic life of the University through the medium of a public lecture


At the beginning of each year, the Vice-Chancellor invites newly appointed and promoted professors to give their inaugural lecture.

All inaugural lectures are printed in hard copies and interested members of staff and the general public may obtain copies at the Office of the Deputy Registrar (Academics). PDF versions are also made available for viewing via the internet.  Please see individual lecture details as listed below.
